Christmas has arrived in the beautiful town of Sainte Victoire and Jean is looking forward to spending it with new friends.

Dom’s (Steve Edge) Uncle Patrick (Tony Robinson) is coming to stay and he is a reformed career thief, but he finds the inhabitants of Sainte Victoire have plenty to tempt him back to his old ways.

He even steals Celine’s (Margeaux Lampley) precious music box – the last memory she has of her father.

Meanwhile, Jeremy (Robin Askwith) and Judith (Sue Holderness) attempt to make a Christmas grotto but it does not go to plan.

Creator Sally said she was excited to bring her favourite time of year into her beloved series.

She told Express.co.uk and other press: "I think Christmas telly is like a gift to the nation, I think it's that present isn't it?

"Creating my own Christmas special was just so exciting because it's all the factors I like in Christmas.

"There are Christmas trees, there are decorations, there's a huge murder mystery plot in there as well.

"But there's a lot of Christmas emotion, there's a choir, there are presents, it's all there."

She teased a "fabulously feel-good ending" and there was a festive feel despite the series being set in a sunny climate.

She said: "It's set in the sunshine, there's no snow, there are no woolies.

"You don't need them in the South of France in winter but it's got a very real Christmassy feel, down to the music, which has been bespokely made for this particular episode."

Sally said she had "really gone to town on it" and she was "very excited about the result".

She said: "I'm beside myself with it, I love it, I'm really chuffed and we did film it in 40 degrees in Malta so, you know, all hail to that.
