In the luxury midsize sedan segment, options for buyers seem limitless. While the German competitors stay at the helm of the affairs, there are several other brands that provide potent options. Among these, the 2013 Infiniti G37 is a comprehensive choice. Available as a convertible, coupe, and sedan variant, the G37 is a versatile proposition that combines strong performance from a V6 engine and agile handling capabilities with an ostentatious build. It provides ample value for its price, thanks to its high degree of reliability. In the current iteration, the Japanese vehicle has just 49 complaints listed to its name. Though it is a low-sales volume product, the absence of any recalls and investigations paints a dependable picture.

The 2013 Infiniti G37 price starts at just under $33,000 and in its segment, it competes with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Audi A6, and the Acura TL.

2013 Infiniti G37 User Complaints and Problems

    Safety Complaints

    • Illumination of passenger airbag warning light: In the list of the 2013 Infiniti G37 common problems, buyers have consistently reported issues with the airbag system. Despite a passenger occupying the seat, the passenger airbag warning light illuminates inadvertently. This can interfere with the proper deployment of the airbags in case of a crash, as it falsely identifies that the seat is empty. Where a diagnosis has been conducted, a failure of the airbag sensor has been attributed as the underlying cause, and consequently, it requires replacement. In some other cases, however, the lower seat assembly is required to be changed, which costs a little over $7,000.
    • Non-deployment of airbags: Buyers of the 2013 G37 have also reported the inabilityof thevehicle’s airbags to deploy in case of a crash. Such a malfunction reduces the occupants’ safety and increases the risk of an injury upon impact.

    Mechanical Complaints

    • Vehicle speed control: In a handful of cases, buyers of the 2013 Infiniti G37 have reported the sedan accelerating independently. As a result, the sudden surge in power and speed is difficult to control and is an ordeal to adapt to. It has resulted in a crash in almost all incidents, but fortunately, no injuries have yet been reported.

    Structural Complaints

    • Failure of door locks: In the 2013 Infiniti G37 issues list, buyers have reported that the doors of the sedan cannot be opened from the inside or the outside. In some cases, even the key fob ceases operation, which restricts ingress and egress. Upon diagnosis, dealerships and independent mechanics have determined a failure of the door actuators, which require replacement.
    • Structural concerns: On NHTSA and unofficial forums, buyers of the midsize sedan have reported the sunroof exploding randomly. Without any impact or incidence, the glass pane of the roof shatters, which causes the fragments to enter the cabin or fly outward. In one officially listed case, a complainant has also recorded water entering the cabin through the roof. However, the reason for the failure is not known.

    2013 Infiniti G37 Recalls

There are no recalls for the 2013 Infiniti G37 yet.

Should you buy the 2013 Infiniti G37?

The Infiniti G37 is a viable option in the class that it falls. With its capacious cabin, a potent feature list, and refined ride quality, the midsize sedan fulfills the needs of family-oriented buyers in the segment. While it is yet to be safety tested, Infiniti’s standards of reliability can be easily judged by its constricted complaint list. Though there are some recurring issues, most problems have simple solutions that are readily available. So, CarHP recommends buyers opt for the G37 sedan when looking for an everyday option. However, if you want to keep your choices open, even the 2013 Acura TL can be a viable alternative.
